Canon Gresser’s Bio
Father Robert (Bob) Gresser was born and raised near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After eight years in the military, he attended Moody Bible Institute and Yale University Divinity School earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Divinity. After ministering as a hospital chaplain for one year, Robert reentered the military, serving as an Army Chaplain until his retirement in 2015. As an Army Chaplain, Bob served in a variety of units and ministries including two combat tours in Iraq. He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Since retirement, Robert has earned a Master of Sacred Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and is working toward a PhD in Old Testament. He served as an instructor at the Evangelical Theological College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia during the summers of 2016 and 2017 and as a lecturer at Bishop Kamungu Theological College in Zomba Malawi in 2019. He also serves as the Canon for Military Chaplains for the Reformed Episcopal Church and as a volunteer firefighter for the Parker County Emergency Services District One.
Robert and his wife Traci have four children and two grandchildren.
