Children & youth

 

Our children and youth are not simply the future of the Church, they are members of the Body of Christ now. The Church is called to protect and build them up in their Faith, so through various ministries at Holy Comforter we seek to nurture our children and youth in the Faith of Jesus Christ that has been passed down to us. Our kids spend much of the year preparing for summer camp. The older kids and youth take part in the social offerings of the diocese including Happenings, New Beginnings, The Bishop's Ball, & Youth Rally.

Children (ages 3-6) are encouraged to enroll in The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This religious formation program is inspired by the educational principles of Maria Montessori and fosters joy and wonder about our faith. 

 

Children (aged 7 and up) will explore the wonderful Word of God utilizing resources from The Bible Project. 

 

Our teenagers are also becoming more involved in The St. Michael's Conference, Southwest.

Prayer for Young Persons

 

God our Father, you see your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
